N A T U R E
The natural world can stir our sense of wonder, inspire our spirit of adventure, and restore our peace of mind.
We will joyfully investigate a range of topics to expand budding scientific understandings and deepen our emerging mathematical thinking. Sorting, classifying, counting, comparing, pattern, shape, measurement and number sense expand profoundly when provoked by nature. Neighborhood green spaces, paths, parks, ponds, and container gardens will provide magical invitations for learning. Neighbors of all ages will grow as scientists and mathematicians as they curate collections, ask questions, thoughtfully observe, and document experiences in their big backyard!
M I N D F U L N E S S
Our intention to grow in consciousness and appreciate the present moment is nurtured by our practice.
We practice patience, gratitude, and compassion at Brick and Ivy Studio. We are growing our ability to listen, persevere, and respond to the world with grace and kindness. Meaningful neighborhood projects will help us understand the importance of goodness and character. Together, we will spread joy, honor diversity, and cultivate empathy in little ways that make a BIG difference. Nature crafts, process art, sensory play, creative movement, guided meditation, yoga, and American Sign Language are some of the invitations that will be extended to neighbors offering a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of every day.

We are all works in progress, and participating in the creative process helps us carve pathways to our own truth and purpose.
Courage, trust, and imagination are the cornerstones of this curriculum component. Pretend play, construction, multi-sensory activities, storytelling, and collaborative projects will grow our creative confidence and unique perspectives. Loose parts, tinker trays, building materials, puppets, musical instruments, and art supplies will lift the level of our playful expression inside and outside of the studio!
